I am in need of help.  I can't not figure out how to get search to work on our publishing website.

 

Moss Publishing website comes with a search.  When you install it, It is already working.  No problem usually. 

 

However, during the import stage when we were working with our vendor they turned off the search services, so to increase the servers speed.  Sounds like no problem until you go back to turn on the services.

 

When I went to turn on the services for search the server complained about using the same database so I created an new search DB through the Sharepoint Admin and started the services.  However, When I go to my application and try to use the search function from the Search site pages I get an error. 

 

It appears that the search pages do not know where to find the content.  I have looked through the internet and serveral sharepoint books looking for answers on how to recreate the seach function, or map the exisiting one to find the new database and have had no luck.

 

Our contract with the vendor has ended so I would like to fix this myself.  Any help would be most appreciated.
